Robot Mechanics Jr is designed specifically for our youngest engineers, ages 6-8. Our students learn robotics concepts such as gear ratios, torque, gear boxes, linkages, and electrical and mechanical systems. Students practice measuring, and recording data, while developing writing and math skills. They learn the engineering design process and work as part of a team to complete design challenges.

Robot Mechanics - AGES 9-14
Tuesday 10:40-11:40 AM
In Robot Mechanics, students learn robotics skills such as gear ratios, torque, gear boxes, linkages, and electric and mechanical systems. Students practice measuring, and recording data, while developing skills in writing and math. They apply the engineering design process as they complete design challenges as part of a team. Students are introduced to LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotics systems. This class can be paired with the Code N Bots Robotics and Coding Class and helps prepare engineers to join a robotics competition team.

Robotics & Coding I - AGES 7-14
Three Sections Offered - Meet Once Weekly

Robotics and Coding I teaches the same engineering concepts through teamwork-oriented learning as provided for the competition team but at a more measured pace. Our engineers learn coding and robotics skills such as loops, switches, autonomous control, turns, sensor use, gear ratios, torque, simple machines, and linkages. Students apply these skills to complete robotics missions.
Limit: 10 students. The Thursday class has a second instructor and is limited to 12 students.

Robotics & Coding II - AGES 12-16
Wednesday 9:30-10:30 AM - LIMITED SEATS REMAIN
Robotics and Coding II is designed for older students or those who have already mastered the robotics skills taught in Coding and Robotics I. Coding and Robotics II places greater emphasis on applying math and uses more advanced coding techniques, such as proportional gyro controlled driving, proportional line following programs, and advanced use of variables.
Students younger than age 12 may be prepared for this class; please contact Code N Bots to determine suitability.

Design and 3D Printing, AGEs 12-16
Wednesday 10:40-11:40 AM

In Design for 3D Printing, students design and build concepts by applying 3D printing best practices and using OnShape, a parametric Computer Aided Design software. This course teaches engineering design and the benefits of additive manufacturing in the engineering design process. Students progress from designing simple objects such as key chains and dice to developing complex multiple-part solutions to design problems.
