Code N Bots® teaches engineering and robotics coding to youth ages 8-14 through interactive projects and competitions. Its mission is to help students solve engineering problems while having fun and working as part of a team. Instruction occurs in teams through after-school, homeschool, and summertime programs. In addition, highly motivated students are invited to join the Code N Bots® competition team. Our teams design, construct, and program a robot for various missions as specified by FIRST® LEGO League.
Melissa Madsen founded Code N Bots® and personally leads all Code N Bots® programs and teams. After a career in aerospace engineering, Melissa turned her attention to teaching coding and robotics in 2017. She studied Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University and subsequently performed hardware design and structural analysis for rockets and fighter jets at engineering firms in Los Angeles, California. Melissa is proud of her coding and robotics teams, which have won many awards, including Robot Design, Mechanical Design Award, FIRST First Place Core Values Award, FIRST Robot Performance Award, FIRST Los Angeles Regional Inspiration Award, and the FIRST Champions Award. Melissa's goal is to guide today’s young dreamers on their path to becoming real-world problem solvers.
