Home-School and After-School Programs in Draper, Utah
Code N Bots® teaches engineering, coding, and robotics to youth ages six through sixteen through hands-on interactive projects that allow students to form friendships and work as a team. Unlike programs where computer modules substitute for teachers, Code N Bots® students master engineering concepts by solving robotics missions under the guidance of a highly qualified instructor. In all our classes, summer camps, and competition teams, our young engineers collaborate with peers and learn through trial, error, and trying again--just like professional engineers.
Code N Bots® creates engineers through engineering.
Code N Bots® recognizes that great engineering achievements occur when highly skilled engineers work together in effective teams. When it comes to solving complex problems, the ability to clearly communicate ideas, actively listen, accept constructive feedback, and express mutual respect are just as essential as understanding the laws of physics.
At Code N Bots®, lessons about working with people are taught alongside lessons about working with robots. Code N Bots® programs emphasize proven principles of effective human interaction as taught in books such as 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and How to Win Friends and Influence People. Code N Bots® students immediately apply these principles as they collaborate to solve engineering challenges.
Code N Bots® builds teams through teamwork.
Melissa Madsen founded Code N Bots® and personally leads all Code N Bots® programs. After a career in aerospace engineering, Melissa turned her attention to teaching coding and robotics in 2017. She studied Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University and subsequently performed hardware design and structural analysis for rockets and fighter jets at aerospace engineering firms in Los Angeles, California.
Melissa is proud of her many coding and robotics teams, which have won numerous awards. Melissa's students and their parents have praised her ability to coach and inspire, and, in 2024, Melissa was honored with the top coaching award at a state-level robotics competition. Melissa's number one objective for Code N Bots® is to inspire young dreamers to become real-world problem solvers.
You decide which Code N Bots® program is best for you, whether it is a weekly class geared to your age and ability, a weeklong summer camp, or an intensive competition team that puts your robotics-engineering and teamwork skills to the test against other teams. Classes and teams run from mid-August through mid-May, and camps are offered throughout the summer.
